TOURNAMENTS
The LSA usually organises two teams to enter weekend BSF affiliated tournaments. These tournaments are played the length and breadth of the country against opposition from other local softball organisations and clubs. Depending on the tournament and the teams progress each team plays on average 4 to 5 games a day on both Saturday and Sunday.

Tournaments are a brilliant way to play softball with people from other teams in the Leeds Softball League and get a full season worth of softball packed in to the space of one weekend. Although there is a large element of competition at each tournament the LSA likes to the keep the focus on having fun and enjoying a weekend away. Most tournaments provide the facilities for visitors to camp at or near to the playing fields. For those a little less adventurous who prefer warmer more comfortable surroundings the LSA will provide information about local hotels and bed and breakfasts. The Tournament organisers also put on a social event usually on the Saturday evening where rivalry between teams sometimes continues but with the competition moving to drinking rather than softball.

Players wishing in playing at tournaments should get in touch with the tournaments manager to register their interest. Each player will have to pay a small fee to enter each tournament which usually works out to around £20.

WHAT TO BRING As with all games organised by the LSA equipment will be available for players but feel free to bring any personal equipment you may own. Remember that you will be spending two days outside so check the weather forecasts and bring suitable clothing. It is also advisable to bring a fold away chair as no-one likes sitting on the ground all day long. If you have a wind break or tent shelter then you may also want to bring it along to. The LSA has a certain amount of team shirts for players but it may be occasionally necessary to bring colour co-ordinated clothing. This will be made perfectly clear to all participants before each tournament. The LSA is always willing to involve new players so regardless of your ability come along and join the fun. If you would like to know more or put your name forward for this season's tournaments, then please contact us at leedssoftball@googlemail.com
