Pre-Season warm-up
LSA will be hosting two pre-season tournaments to ease you into the summer of 2010! Both tournaments will take place at the end of the two-week pre-season training sessions on the weekend of 1 & 2 May (Bank Holiday weekend) and will be held at Bedquilts.
Saturday will host a mixed-team "First Ball" tournament, open to all players and teams. Entry fee is £50 per team and the proceeds will go towards funding the Sunday charity tournament. Entries by composite teams are permitted if you can't get your whole team out!
Sunday will host a ladies-only tournament in aid of the Leeds Breast Cancer Haven (registered charity number 1061726). Believing that "no-one should have to face breast cancer alone", the Haven provides a unique service to anyone affected by breast cancer, supporting the physical and emotional needs of breast cancer, and is funded entirely by donations. Entrance to the tournament is £50 per team, or individual players can enter to be assigned to a team by paying £5. Ladies, the single-sex game is played with a smaller ball, so some organised practice sessions will be held before the tournament begins to let you get used to being able to throw and hit it much further than normal! Indoor Second Session - Jan 2010
Winter indoor training continues on Wednesday evenings 8-9.30pm at Leeds Met Headingley campus sports centre from 20th January. To gain entry, go to the Carnegie Sports Centre Reception; the session cost is £4.50 per person for those without an LMU Sports Pass. Free parking is available on site.
The sessions will run until the start of pre-season outdoor training, which takes place in the final two weeks of April. The outdoor season games start on 3 May 2010.
